Secretary of Homeland Security Kirstjen M. A Phase 2 clinical trial of an investigational universal influenza vaccine intended to protect against multiple strains of the virus has begun in the United States. The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) Office of the Assistant Secretary for Preparedness and Response will purchase an anthrax treatment as part of the department’s ongoing national preparedness efforts. The product will be delivered to the Strategic National Stockpile, the nation’s largest supply of potentially life-saving medical countermeasures, for use in a public health emergency.
